Palestro (30th Sept - 1st Oct)
Left Colombara at 9am after visiting Museum it was a history about how rice farms and the communities lived all in these huge walled in brick structures Schools, blacksmiths, cobblers, harness makers, cattle horses everything a community would need. We are now in a village called Palestro about 6k from Robbio.
Left Palestro at 8:30hrs breakfasting on chocolate buns given to us by a kind lady the night before as well as a jar of Nutella for later. We are always being surprised by the generosity and kindness we receive everywhere we go. We are now camped in front of the Basilica Madonna delle Bozzolle where we have again been made welcome by bar owner right next to the basilica with a hot meal and cold beers. The last 3 days we have been following farm tracks crisscrossing the rice fields. The irrigation system is a series of huge ditches and smaller tributaries of the Canal Cavour.
